ACADEMY PROGRAM
The Academy Program is a 10-month program for U9 and U10 boys and girls players. It begins in August and runs through May of the following year. There are no tryouts at the Academy levels. Evaluations for placement on one of our Academy teams are typically held in late May and early June, but players may contact us at any time to inquire about openings.

Spring and Fall: Teams will train outdoors twice per week (at Graham Park or North Boundary Park in Cranberry Twp.); local league games are held each weekend; teams also typically attend one travel tournament in the Fall and one in the Spring.

Winter: Teams will train indoors once per week and will play 24 indoor league games over the course of the winter. Winter training may be held at RMU Island Sports Center or Tri-County Indoor Soccer Arena. The 24 indoor league games are held at Tri-County Indoor Soccer Arena and are already included in our Academy fee structure. Compare this to other programs that charge additional fees for winter training and indoor games.

PROGRAM VISION
The Academy’s focus is on proper individual and team training; the Club is less concerned with winning matches at these ages than with ensuring proper skill development for future success. Our goal is to teach our young players a love of the game of soccer. We do this by providing a fun, constructive learning environment and allow our players to grow more confident in their abilities.  

Our experienced coaching staff is dedicated to ensuring that Stars United players develop individual skills and understanding of the team game, in an enjoyable format.  Players are positively encouraged to participate in the game in a fair and competitive manner.

Stars United is based in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania just 20 miles north of Pittsburgh.  The Academy is open to all players, regardless of where they live.

About Elite Goalkeeping Academy

Elite Goalkeeping Academy (EGA) specializes in world-class goalkeeper training. Now in its third year, EGA brings to Pittsburgh two of the premier keeper coaches from the UK — Mick Payne and Paul Mellings — for a focused and fun camp. We deliver an innovative goalkeeper experience that covers all aspects of goalkeeping. The net goal: to promote the art of goalkeeping and help each camper attain a higher level of performance.

All EGA participants receive:

• 15 hours of goalkeeping instruction/training from professional coaches with international experience
• development assessment from the coaches
• free t-shirt and soccer ball

Congratulations to the U15 Boys and Coach Juergens and Coach MacZura. 

The U14 Boys were 2-1-0 and the U16 Boys were 2-1-0 for the weekend in Dublin, Ohio.  

Stars United U-17 Girls were Finalists also.  Congratulations girls and Coach Kowalski!

Stars United Goalkeepers Outdoor Training should begin April 3rd at Graham Park (side of Field F beside the concession stand)

GOALKEEPERS TRAINING CALENDAR

The Academy program includes: fall & spring outdoor training sessions twice per week with weekend matches, tournaments, winter training and 24 winter indoor league games.   

Academy teams are comprised of U9-U10 players. The Academy program emphasizes technical and physical development while encouraging individual creativity and expression.   In addition to regular team practices, Stars United provides all players with year-round training opportunities and camps conducted by our Director of Coaching and staff of trainers.

Academy U9 & U10 teams participate in local friendlies with other clubs in the GLA and attend tournaments for additional competition.  

The Academy program’s focus is not on winning but on developing each player to his or her fullest potential, preparing the players for success in the future.

Stars United Academy is designed to develop soccer players’ technical skills, with an age appropriate program.  The vision of this program is to not only prepare our young players how to play soccer technically, but do so in a safe and constructive environment. Stars United coaching philosophy has a strong emphasis on player development. Our experienced coaching staff is dedicated to ensuring that Stars players develop individual skills and understanding of the game, in an enjoyable format. And players are positively encouraged to participate in the game in a fair and competitive manner.      

All Stars United teams participate in either the PA West Classic League, Region I or the GLA Leagues.  We are based in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania just 20 miles north of Pittsburgh and utilize first-class fields at Dick’s Sporting Goods Sportplex at Graham Park and North Boundary Park.  Since our club’s inception, Stars United has partnered with Seneca Valley Soccer Association (SVSA) and contributed club funds to several soccer field development projects in the Cranberry Township area.  Stars United recognizes the importance of providing the best possible training and game facilities for our players.  Through our partnership with SVSA, we ensure that teams at all levels enjoy some of the best soccer fields and facilities in Western Pennsylvania.  Winter training is also included at RMU Island Sports Center and Tri-County Indoor Soccer Arena.  Winter indoor leagues are also included in our fee structure, unlike a lot of clubs in the area.
