Dick’s Sporting
Goods Sportsplex at Graham Park
- Cranberry Township

Cranberry Township, January 24, 2008.
Cranberry Township’s Board of Supervisors this morning
approved a $2.2 million agreement with Dick’s Sporting Goods to help finance the
construction of a major new Sportsplex at Graham Park, the Township’s new
115-acre public park slated to open this fall.
The 11-year agreement will be applied to the baseball, football and soccer
campuses of the new park, which will be collectively identified as the Dick’s
Sporting Goods Sportsplex at Graham Park. The park is situated along the
eastbound side of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, about a mile west of the Cranberry
exit.
In addition to naming rights for the complex, each of the local sports
associations responsible for organizing baseball/softball, football and soccer
teams in the Township will host at least one regional tournament a year as part
of a Dick’s Sporting Goods baseball, soccer, and football competition.
The company will communicate regularly with athletes competing at the Sportsplex
and has the ability to bring a mobile store and interactive trailer into the
park, showcasing new products and technologies available in its store
locations.
“We are thrilled today to be announcing our commitment to this first-class
facility in Cranberry Township,” said Jeffrey R. Hennion, Executive Vice
President & Chief Marketing Officer of Dick’s Sporting Goods. “As the largest
full-line sporting goods retailer in the U.S., one of our primary goals is to
support the communities in which we do business and the growth of youth sports
within those communities. The Dick’s Sporting Goods Sportsplex will be the
premier youth sports facility in Western Pennsylvania, bringing opportunities
for children of all ages to participate in sports.”
The football campus of the Dick’s Sporting Goods Sportsplex at Graham Park is
expected to open this fall, with its baseball and soccer campuses slated for
opening in the spring of 2009.
Naming opportunities at different price levels for individual playing fields and
specific park features are still available.
The Soccer Campus will consist of four, full-size fields.
Full-sized fields will double as two youth fields. It is anticipated
that the Soccer Campus will be ready for play in the spring of 2009. | |
