Coach Turner played Division I collegiate soccer at St. Francis College in the Northeast conference. As team captain, he is the school’s all-time leading scorer. All Mid-Atlantic team selection, Two-time All NEC selection and All Rookie NEC Team. A North Allegheny graduate, Section 5 Player of the Year 1991. Two-time All WPIAL Selection. North Allegheny’s All-time Assist Leader. Three PA West State Cup titles on different teams. Prior coaching experience with Beaver Jr. High Girls, NA Jr. High Girls, various camps and clinics. Bill guided the 93/94 Stars United Girls to the State Cup Final in 2007 and Third Place at the 2006 State Cup.
U11 Boys Jim Perry & Marco Patitucci
Coach Perry was Fox Chapel High School Boys Head Coach for 20 years & Assistant Coach 7 years. He is also on the PA West ODP staff. Coach Perry is inducted into the Western Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.
Coach Patitucci played Division I collegiate soccer at Robert Morris University winning 2 regular season Northeast Conference titles, 2 NEC tournaments, and participated in two NCAA tournaments. Marco was selected as the NEC Tournament MVP in 1994 and three-time All-NEC Team. A Fox Chapel graduate, All-Section, All-WPIAL, All-State player, and PIAA State Champs. Prior coaching experience with Beadling Soccer Club, Quickskills clinics, and as Director of John Kowalski’s Star Striker Soccer Camps.
U12 Boys Jason DeFranco
Coach DeFranco played Division I collegiate soccer at Robert Morris University: team captain, 3-time All-American, 3-time All-Northeast selection, All-MidAtlantic selection. Shaler graduate, Section 5 Player of the Year 1997, 3-time All-WPIAL selection, 3-time All-Section selection. Has been the Asst. Coach with the Stars United 93/94 Boys since 2007. Coach Shearer has been with Stars United for the past two years, and is the Junior High Boys coach at Central Valley.
U13 Boys Graeme Eastgate & Mark Perry
Coach Eastgate played Division I collegiate soccer at Robert Morris University in the Northeast conference - nationally ranked #16 in 1995. NEC Regular Season Champs ’94, ’95, ’96. NEC Tournament Champs ’94. NCAA Tournament participant ’94. A Seneca Valley graduate, Section 5 All-Section selection, Team Offensive MVP & leading scorer ’93 and SV Boosters scholarship recipient. Coaching experience with Stars United, North United, Quickskills and Star Striker Camps.
Coach Perry is the Director of Soccer for the Center School District where he is in charge of the boys and girls programs. During his 22 years as a Boys Head Coach, his teams have made 21 WPIAL playoff appearances. Over 400 WPIAL wins while at Hampton High School (1987-1990), Fox Chapel High School (1991-2005) and Center High School (2006-present) which includes 16 Section Titles, 3 WPIAL Titles, 4 WPIAL Runner-up’s, and a PIAA Championship. Coach Perry is currently the Director of Coaching and Player Development for the Stars United Soccer Club. He holds a USSF National “C” License. Coach Perry is the Manager of Tri-County Soccer & Sports Center in Freedom, Pa.
U14 Boys Bob MacZura & Bill Juergens
Coach MacZura is a native of the St. Louis region at Assumption HS before moving to Fox Chapel High School where he was a three year varsity player. Played on the Western PA U19 select team that placed 2nd in a northeast regional tournament. Was a NAIA District 18 all conference selection his senior year at Penn State-Behrend where he was a 4-year starter. After completing college he played in the Pittsburgh region for various teams throughout the Keystone League for over 15 years. Was a licensed PIAA official for over 13 years and then started coaching. Currently has his State “D” coaching certificate. Coach MacZura guided the U12B (96-97) to the first State Cup Championship for Stars United in 2009.
Coach Juergensis originally from Elkton, MD where he earned All-State honors before continuing his playing career at Grove City College. At Grove City College, was a four year letter winner, three year team Captain, team MVP, three year All-Presidents Athletic Conference team, Regional All-American and National All-American. In 2001 he was part of the inaugural class inducted into the Grove City College Soccer Hall of Fame. Juergens brings 25 years of coaching experience to Stars United. After settling in Western Pennsylvania, he was the first head coach for the boys varsity team at Mercer High School and in four years took the team to it’s first District 10 play-off appearance. Past Director of Coaching and Player development for Mercer Area Youth Soccer Association. Coached the Stars United U-12 & U-15 boys teams to semi-final appearances in the 2007 PA West State Cup and the 94/95 U13 Boys to finalists at the 2008 PA West State Cup. Coach Juergens guided the U12B (96-97) to the first State Cup Championship for Stars United in 2009.

Coach Takac played Division I collegiate soccer at the University of Pittsburgh. A Moon High School graduate, two-time WPIAL Champions, and a 2nd and a 3rd place title in the PIAA State playoffs. Coaching experience as the Varsity Boys Assistant Coach for 2 years at Hopewell High School and the past 6 years within the Seneca Valley Soccer Association.
U11 Girls Frank Christy
Coach Christy is the Hampton girls varsity soccer coach. He became the first girls soccer coach in the history of the state to win 400-career games. Christy’s 400th win came in the fall of 2009.
U12 Girls Allan Brown
Coach Brown moved from his native South Africa to Canada as a child, settling with his family in Newmarket, Ontario. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic High School, and subsequently played Division I college soccer at Robert Morris University, where he majored in management and was an NEC All-Conference and Regional All-American performer. Allan turned professional in 2008, playing with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the USL Second Division. Coaching experience as Asst. Women’s Coach at Robert Morris University and with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds Academy.

Coach Hoffman has been a head coach for Mercer Area School District for the past seven years. In his first year as the boys varsity coach he led them to a d10 single a semi-final appearance. He coached for six years with the girls program leading them to two consecutive D10 aa play-off appearances. While coaching with Stars United he guided the U-13 boys in 2009 to a state cup semi-final and the U-18 girls in 2010 to a state cup semi-final.

Coach Kowalski is in his ninth year as head coach of the Robert Morris University women’s soccer team. Within the local, national and international soccer communities, Kowalski has been just about everywhere and done just about everything: professional indoor coach and player, Men’s and Women’s college head coach at the NCAA Division I and II levels, U.S. National Team interim head coach, U.S. Futsal head coach, Major League Soccer (MLS) and A-League head coach. Coach Kowalski has the USSF National “A” Coaching License and is an Assistant Coach with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. Coach Kowalski guided the 94/95 Stars United Girls to the semi-finals at the 2008 PA West State Cup.

Coach Sylvester has been the Head Coach for Seneca Valley High School Girls Varsity for the past 9 years. He has led the Raiders to 8 WPIAL playoff appearances, 3 Section Championships, and the 2008 WPIAL AAA Girls Championship. He holds a USSF "C" Coaching License.
