Cranberry Township, PA, April 29, 2016 – Stars United Soccer Club and PA Crew Soccer Academy of PA West announce the newly formed Stars Crew Soccer (SCS).  In an effort to provide a comprehensive program for youth soccer in the Western PA area, PA Crew and Stars United will be combining resources, staff and facilities to form SCS. SCS will use the recently mandated Birth Year Age group designation as the opportunity to pull a larger group of players from both clubs and the neighboring communities to develop players and teams that can compete at the highest level locally and within Region 1.

Each Club shares a similar philosophy of both cooperation and collaboration with the local community based soccer programs by encouraging players to remain involved in recreational and travel programs while providing coaching and skills training to some of the local programs in PA West. Both clubs have worked independently with programs including Seneca Valley Soccer Association and can now work even closer to provide programs and a platform that benefits players of all levels.

Pete Breski, SVSA President. “For several years, we have enjoyed great working relationships with both clubs to the benefit of our players and coaches. I am very excited about the thriving partnership we will continue to have with the combined organization. Our players and coaches will be able to take advantage of some great programs based on the synergistic resources and people SCS will bring to the field.”

Combining Partner programs like Sports Performance Training and International Playing opportunities via Team Trips and Player Identification Programs with the Wolverhampton International Academy, SCS Players will have the ability to excel within the club and be promoted to higher level partner programs without having to find supplemental programs elsewhere.

SCS will field teams from the Academy Development Level of Players born in 2009 through Regional and Showcase teams born in 1999/98. In its first year together, the objective will be to create teams at every age group to compete either locally in the PA West Classic League or
Regionally (Nationally) in EDP, Champions League etc. SCS will offer a progressive curriculum from individual technical skills to possession-based tactics that will develop players throughout their playing career and provide the opportunity to excel and receive exposure to the Top College Scouts and Academy Programs. SCS will continue to offer joint development opportunities including Speed and Agility, Coerver Camps, Crewsers/Future Stars and Player ID Camps with the Wolverhampton International Academy.

Under this Merger, SCS will operate as a 501c3 non-profit organization under the leadership of its four Directors: Mark Perry, Rob Esposto, Graeme Eastgate and Rich Hackenberg.  Joint Tryouts schedule and information will appear on both club websites, registration will open May 1, 2016.
